Ignoring the "real camping" vs "RVing" discussion, RVs are also used at fairgrounds for staying in while participating in events, by movie makers "on location", at rodeos, to visit relatives and stay in their driveway, etc. So the more civilized you can make them the better. Travelling across country with an RV can be much better than staying at motels. Tow your fishing boat and stay in the RV, going to ski?
You don't get extra points for staying in a tent in January instead of in an RV while doing all that.
