  • Interesting idea, though perhaps not for Windows. A panel that tracks the sun for power efficiency that only sticks out an inch from the wall. Of course it would have to be much sturdier for outside use.
  • When I was not home I closed all my blinds. Wouldn't want some automated system opening them for thieves to look in!

Anyway, Who would want them opening and closing and opening a little and then closing every time a cloud passed over the sun all day long. :?
  • Hi MrWizard,

As far as I can see, it appears to cost over $7 per watt. A ridiculous price.
  • let me guess
Apartment owners etc..Means micro grid tie inverters from each blind that plug into an outlet in your apartment

Hundreds of dollars per window blind
A few cents a day in kw hrs generated, years to pay back the cost of one blind

This is a solution looking for a problem

    No thank you
  • Umm I think you are teasing me. These solar blinds produce electricity. The adjust the angle of the of the blades to produce maximum energy.

Rock, Walmart will sell these new solar blinds for five bucks.

Get out! You mean I've been buying the manual ones for 4 bucks and for a dollar more I could have the solar ones!!!? :B

So 'why' is this scammer getting money from a kickstarter site?:?

  • :S

What's next when a person can't give one twist on a rod of a $4.00 louvered blind from Walmart!
