I know my 230/ Eco-w set up will do over 16a but only if the battery voltage is lower than any of us want to see or if I put a load on the system. At normal voltages even the twin systems don't get that high while charging. I believe that even though the controller is in bulk, tapering starts as the voltage comes up. Now that's with the grp 27, I bet the 8-D can suck up power to a much higher voltage point.
I'm glad the Eco=w has worked out for you. Your use and testing has given it credibility, especially the fact that you kept it.
