"Your continued claim that MPPT controllers somehow drop to PWM mode is not helping your credibility. They are two radically different circuits and there is no controller I have ever heard of that has both capabilities"
OK, what do you call it when it stops tracking the MPP at the end of the Bulk stage and goes into its Absorb and Float stages which are with no MPPT?
Morningstar 15L says:
"Absorption
When the battery has recharged to the Absorption voltage
set-point, constant voltage regulation is used to prevent
heating and excessive battery gassing."
So how does it do that constant voltage regulation? What is that called?
Morningstar again:
"What is PWM?
Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) is the most
effective means to achieve constant voltage
battery charging by switching the solar system
controller’s power devices. When in PWM
regulation, the current from the solar array
tapers according to the battery’s condition
and recharging needs."
