You already have several big and small holes in the roof. No need to reinvent the wheel. Check the list of completed solar projects somewhere here on the forum. Some people drilled hole in the roof, though majority used the fridge vent and routed it inside the cabinets and then to the storage. Or mounted controller inside the rig, close to batteries. Mine is in bedroom, batteries are in storage under the bedroom 3ft away, cable goes to battery through 3/4" interior wall.
