I've had the original, still on there, which was nicknamed an RJspecial 10 amp model at 14.4V.
I've used it in conjunction with a Solar 30... 30 amp, for like $36 shipped which both BFL and I happen to like very much, and I've had it with a MPPT 20, again about $36 shipped, with a couple of different features from the Solar 30. I just alternately wired in the other charge control units, bypassing the stock unit, because I wanted 15.0V if at all possible for a very unique high antimony scrubber battery on my travel trailer that is somewhat problematic to get fully charged on a daily basis, it's a bit cranky, much like a Group 31 like in Landyacht 318's application.
Basically, I find the Solar 30 the most useful, it counts total amps charged into the battery, less of course what your rig is using during daylight hours. It has temp correction. I like that cumulative feature. It has a nice LED display.
