Thanks for all the replies so far. It is because of partial shading that is hard to avoid on Rv roof and partial shade from trees sometimes that I chose to have the panels parallel and not in series. From what I have read most people realize about a 10% net gain from mppt controllers so it seems for mid size systems you get more solar by spending your money on an extra panel now that 12 volt panels have down so much in price. The tech person at Solar Blvd. said two solar controllers in parallel would not work correctly. Any truth to that? Seems like many people on this forum have done that successfully.
