- Mandalay_ParrExplorerThey will work even if the glass is cracked.
- AlmotExplorer IIIMex, automotive Lexan sheets have protective cover against "minor" scratches, according to specs. Don't know about yellowing. Lexan is one of brand names for polycarbonate, you'll probably find similar but cheaper polycarb sheets that are not called Lexan.
Why are you worried about glass - flying sand scratching? - pianotunaNomad IIII think this is almost a "what if" question. They use tempered glass but similar to a windshield, it may crack if a stone gets thrown up from the road. That would be rare for a roof top installation.
- MEXICOWANDERERExplorerI wonder. Do armored cars and so forth need Lexan changeouts because of UV yellowing?
- Dick_BExplorerPlus as the cover yellows the effect will continue to change; theoretically, of course.
