It's highly likely that your trusses are wood or maybe aluminum. I don't know that I've ever heard of an RV having steel roof trusses.
Your 14" x 14" vents are located between the trusses. That is the easiest way to find them. That's probably why the standard vent size is 14", it fits between trusses spaced at 16" on center.
I've installed panels on several RV roofs, I've tried to get some screws into the trusses if possible but mostly they just land where they do. Add some 3M tape and Dicor sealant to that and I haven't had problems.
