This thread is not the most clear, but it sounded like you have already measured current from solar. Or, at least, Isc current. If you haven't, here is a video on how to do it:

To measure current entering the controller with battery and other loads connected, you should connect the leads of multimeter or any amp-meter IN SERIES, i.e. INLINE, between + of the solar panel and + of the controller input. Or between - and -. If you connect between, say, + and +, then the line - to - where you don't have a meter, should also be connected to controller.
Make sure that on the controller you connect the meter exactly to INPUT, i.e. where it says "solar" or has a tiny image of solar panel. Also keep in mind that cheap multimeters can only measure 6A current for about 10 seconds, and will go up in smoke if you do this longer.
