Yes, if pwm can do better than mppt, the mppt controller will drop out of tracking and connect panels directly to battery. Now it's operating exactly like a pwm controller.

If so, would an mppt cc automatically drop out of tracking/bucking, if it could put out more current in pwm? Or would it continue in mppt as long as Vbatt told it to? (I hope that makes sense?)
