BFL, I think your best bet would be to have a voltage meter at the controller inputs. That way, you can see the relationship between Vmp and controller output, can swing the tracker to see what occurs, and can see the advantage of the 24V panel and MPPT in the shoulder hours of the day.
FWIW, I measured my single 24v module right out of the box and it exceeded the rated Voc. I've read that the value will go down with age. It makes little difference since I am not concerned with maximum throughput because of lesser voltage. Module positioning and battery acceptance are much more important in terms of maximum harvest.
