I was going to do a somewhat apples to apples comparison between MPPT and PWM using both my trailers, one with PWM, one with MPPT. But changed my mind. today if everything works out around 1pm (noon w/o DST) I'll go back and look at MPPT charge current, then in less than 1/2hour I should be able to swap out my Morningstar MPPT controller for the other trailers PWM controller and hook it up and see what I get for current, then swap them back out again and see what the MPPT shows. Not an instant to instant comparison, but should give at least a qualitative comparison of MPPT to PWM when battery max acceptance current is much higher than panel ouput current.
I'll add that comparison to the data I've compiled from yesterday and write up a report.
And with optimal panel angle yesterday I had 10A going into the battery bank. Anyone want to guess what the charge current went to with the panels flat on the ground??? (latitude 46 degrees, mid october)
