Solar panel
Just got a 100w panel and want to run a 12v 80w radiator fan, NO BATTERY. The panel is cranking out 23v do I need to put a controller in the middle. All controllers I look at have a battery hookup between the panel and output.

- Greenhouse, only want fan to run when enough sun to run the fan. Fan says 5-8 amps, not enough in a 100W renogy panel to run that? 23v with a vmeter with nothing connected off back of panel.
- I give up, why no battery? The 23v was measured how.. with nothing hooked up? 80w is too much for that panel, even in the best of conditions.
Normally panels aren't used to "run" things. They're for charging batteries, which run things.
