Well an old man who does rv work as a hobby was the only person willing to help today (the shops were all several days to a week out) after I gave it a few more hours trying to find the right tool to get the bolt loose that let's you take the panel off without removing the brackets that were covered in sealant.
After like 20 minutes of him watching me struggle he said even if I got it off, I couldn't get it back on. He said he didn't know much about solar systems but I asked him if he knew about basic electric. He nodded and we got started. He was most likely right so we scraped off the sealant in one corner and were luckily able to get the positive cable free. The connector tested bad and as soon as it was rewired it was pumping out amps again.
He did some of school crimping which I'm going to replace asap with some fittings meant for RV and all the abuse they take up there. He only charged me $150 although I did help him the whole time, which honestly was a plus for me. I have him a bit extra because I was so glad it was working and we didn't have to remove anything but one corner.
He doesn't advertise but his shop is listed in Google as Superior Lube and RV. I think he does more of the mechanical stuff rather than the RV systems themselves. Either way I highly recommend him. He was a great help to me and charged me what an RV shop would have charged for only an hour although we were at it for two and a half. If your in Whitehorse pulling your hair out give him a call at (867) 633-6327.
Now hopefully we'll finally leave Whitehorse to head to Anchorage tomorrow.
