Solar aside, that can easily turn into a costly project as efficient genset charging is going to mean a larger genset, appropriate batteries to charge, a converter and/or charger suitable for charging the batteries you select, and heavy enough cabling so that charging system doesn't suffer excessive voltage loss. All of these issues are interrelated so if you don't address one and throw all your $$$ at another you could easily be not much further ahead than you are now.
