Then don't get that higher rated PD70. Get PD55. Will still work better than existing WFCO, both on generator and on shore power. At a fraction of cost of upgrading the generator.
The 1000w Honda will not run a 55 amp converter at 14.4v
With power factor of 0.7 the 950w input will be 1357VA. The 1000w Honda is rated for 900VA.
Time2roll suggests a 35 amp PD with Charge Wizard to go with that 1000w Honda, so when you make it do 14.4v with the CW, the VA will be there for it.
Here is the math for that, working back from output:
DC output 35 amps, 14.4v = 504w
Converter efficiency 85% as specified, means input needs to be 504/85=
593w input.
PF 0.7 so 593w needs 847VA, just under the Honda's 900VA.
