DEPENDS! first you need to check the SN on the 2000 and look at the honda website. Honda says 2000's (regular or companion) outside a certain SN range should NOT be paralleled with a 2200. Damage to the 2000 could result and output voltage will be low.

If your in the "good" SN, then yes you can parallel and you will get 3400VA continous, 4200VA peak output. (1800+1600) or (2200 + 2000)

I have a 2000 companion purchased in 2011 and it is a SN that is compatible with the 2200.
