Found the OEM on Amazon. Of course the reviews are anecdotal, but they just don't make ANYTHING like they used to. FWIW, the Hayden has 10 reviews and 4.5 stars.
I'm considering the wrecking yard now. They generally have the miles the rig was junked along with what kind of accident it was in. Perhaps I can find a low mileage unit that was sideswiped in the rear quarter.
But first I'm going to try your "BRAKE CLEAN * BRAKE CLEAN * BRAKE CLEAN * BRAKE CLEAN" idea. Removing and replacing it doesn't take forever. And knuckles heal.
