Sportsmen LE Show Stopper

We recently bought a used 2016 Sportsmen LE Show Stopper. We know the previous owners and they used it 4 nights over the year they owned it. Their loss is our gain..haha.
Anyway, the owners manual is pretty generic and I'm trying to find out how to get it to run on its own power. I've replaced the battery and can confirm it's fully charged.

I'm sure it's something simple I'm overlooking, but being new to the world of travel trailers, I cannot figure this thing out.

Any guidance is greatly appreciated.

"By the way...under the cabinet, above the dinette, there are a series of switches, one of them is red. What in the world is that one for?"

Just a guess, but it might be for your hot water heater; that switch is often an illuminated red rocker switch.

    Thanks Rick!
I had tv/cable issues on mine as well. I unplugged from one coax and into another, then messed with the tv input settings until I got mine working.

Turn your battery shutoff switch on. If you still have no 12 volt power to lights, fuel pump etc you have some other problem
  • I have the same unit. Good luck ours much like yours was never used
My main issue is the cable system for tv
    Ours is dead in water.

Keep me posted save my contact info

We can figure em out togetherness

I'm going to guess that there's a battery shutoff switch somewhere that's turned off. Often these are momentary toggle switches labeled something like "use" and "store", often located near the entry door or on a control panel with other switches and gauges. The actual shutoff is a remote operated latching relay that you can here click on or off when you press one side or the other of the switch.

Occasionally there is a shutoff that's a big manual switch located at or very close to the battery.

If that's not your problem, it sounds as though there's a bad or broken connection somewhere near the battery, or a blown main fuse. It may be the ground cable, of course, not just something on the positive side.
  • Please explain, what does run under its own power mean?

The battery powers the lights, the fridge controls the heater blower, the water pump, vent fans
Fridge and water heater and furnace use propane and 12v from battery

For 120v electric you need to plug the shoe power cable into an outlet or portable generator

There is a power converter aka battery charger, that uses 120v to charge the trailer battery when ever you are plugged in
  • So we need to know what doesn't work? Lights, pump, etc....

Since you have a known good battery hooked up now, if nothing on the 12V side doesn't work it sounds like you have some blown fuses. 12v items: Lights, pump, furnace blower, electronics for the fridge, WH, and AC.

If you're expecting 120V AC items like microwave and AC to work you will need to be plugged into shore power.
  • Thanks Pipeman. I forgot to mention there is a good battery in my original post and have since edited it.

I'll be sure to check for a shutoff.
  • Crazy, but do you have a battery/batteries in the tt? Next is there a battery shut off that may be in the off position? I'm not familiar with your trailer but some basic hints. Good luck.
