Starting the Engine during the Winter
I spent about 1/2 an hour searching this question. I'm sure it has been talked about before but I couldn't find it. Anyway, the Thor owners manual for my rig says to run the engine for 30 minutes each...

I run the 454 engine and the generator monthly during the winter.
I let the engine get up to operating temp and beyond - usually 15-20 minutes. It has a 180 degree thermostat in it, but it will get up to 210 before the clutch fan kicks in and brings it back down. I run it through the gears as well.
I run the generator for about 30 minutes with a 1500 watt heater loading it up, too.
I don't know if it does any good, but it's an excuse to get out and spend some quality time with the Allegro.
