starting up refrig...lp or electric

Folks:

Which cools the refrigerator quicker when starting it up....lp or electric.

We always leave lp on when traveling and has worked well.

Also..our daytime temp here in southern AZ has been 102-107 for the last few weeks which doesn't help.

Thoughts?

  • Do you have an inside fridge battery operated fan? That speeds the cooling and keeps it cooler for me.
  • I agree that there is probably little difference. I always turn mine on the day before I plan to put food in and it has always been cold that next day.
  • Generally I believe you will experience best performance on propane.
These refrigerators were designed to run on propane and the electric heater was an add-on for convenience.
  • Most think that LP is quicker, and I agree, but I doubt you'd notice enough difference, that you'd want to use up your LP supply unnecessarily.
