When putting a motorhome in storage should the jacks be up or down? Dose it make a difference?

I've never stored our Southwind with the jacks extended.
OTOT, I have seen a Class A gas rig stored for the winter with the jacks extended and the front wheels off the ground.
It didn't make any sense to me but, it was the owners choice.
