Stove hood light/fan tied into cabinet lighting?

Is it a normal wiring configuration for the stove hood light and fan to be tied into the under-cabinet lighting? Just an observation on the new trailer...thought at first it didn't work at all on batt...

What they did was tie the Hood light to the COLD side of the cabinet light switch instead of the HOT side. Easy fix. Doug
