Cabinet light switch

I've used Pin switches for this before. They can handle more than enough amps for lighting.

But I do like the compactness of that micro switch. I'll have to remember that as an option for future projects.

I had the same concerns about the lights being left on. Here is the one I used to install LEDs in my pantry. The metal box on the back of the switch does not have to be used which allows it to be used in close quarters.

Here's an idea for you.

Here's my old closet light.

Which I took out installed a junction box and fished the wires in the ceiling to the cabinet right of the closet.


I then installed a strip of led lights in the closet.


Wired the leds to a rocker switch with indicator light right of closet. Switch off.



Switch on.



Plenty of light in closet.

You can try this IR sensor, which is meant for that application. Will drive up to 5 amps, on clearance for $3.57
