strong fuel smell

Did you get it figured out?
Did you fix the problem, just wondering how it went.

Probably the lift pump, I had to replace mine about every 75,000 miles.

If the "O" rings are not deteriorated, they sometimes can be reversed as a temporary fix. Also, it is usually the "O" rings that are the only part of the drain valve that must be replaced. Replacemrnt "O" rings which are diesel fuel compatible can be purchased for far less than buying the entire valve.

Fuel filter drain valve

Probably be a good idea to take it somewhere and get that fixed. Hate to see you on the side of the road with flames coming out. Not a good idea to mess with fuel leaks.

I had to replace my fuel drain valve on my 2000 F250 and could only get one quickly by going to the dealer. The fuel did puddle up on the intake.

Brother in law put off his fuel leak till he parked somewhere with truck leaning a certain way and fuel dripped down on his starter and now he also gets to buy a starter.

Lesson in that somewhere?
