Stuck with my slides out

Hi all, im stuck in a tx state park and my slides wont come in. I had a mobile rv tech come out to look and $160 later he said i needed to charge the batteries. I went and bought a charger and now the batteries show fully charged, but slides wont even click. We did get one slide to come in yesterday with the rv tech when i hooked jumper cables to the batteries. Im in a 2004 itasca horizon 40. I cant find any fuses, which seems like the next step. Then someone said dont rely on what the voltemiter says and that maybe the voltage drops to almost nothing when i push the button to bring in the slides. Whats funny is yesterday when the batteries were low , i at least heard a click when i pushed the button. Any ideas from you more experienced rv'ers
Thanks,...randy

  • Start the MH up. You get plenty of juice for the slides than.
Think you also wasted $160.0 on that tech.
  • Many slides are wired straight to the battery. You should be able to jumper from a vehicle to the motor with jumper cables That would bypass your battery and the wiring.
If unable every slide system that I have seen, which is obviously not all, has a method of manually retracting the slides. Doesn't your owners manual cover that?

How long did you charge, at what rate, and how many batteries, and how old are they?

If you have power to run a charger, you should be able to bring in your slides with the converter on.
