The accuracy of the Kill-a-watt on the amps setting, is not nearly as correct as the watts.
I just checked mine with an 11 watt fan @ 114 volts. The amp reading was 0.19 so that tells the tale.

Current freezer, the one mfr says is 1.8amps / 65watts is really 1 amp, 69 watts, on 117v AC according to the meter.
That's still not the 117 watts that it seems to me 1 amp should be, but at least it is closer.
