Yes I even double checked. I'm almost certain the stat is the culprit due to the fact that while we were camping I wanted to make sure I started my shower with a freshly heated tank of water so I opened the kitchen hot water tap to draw the temp down and kick on the burner and it took running the faucet full open hot over 2 1/2 minutes to kick the burner on and the water was barely Luke warm out of the tap before the burner lit to reheat. I haven't checked the temp of the water as Old-Biscuit suggested but I'd bet the farm that it's kicking off at about 120 and kicking on at 90 or so.
