Suburban SW6D water heater fail

I have a new to me Lance Camper with a Suburban SW6D water heater, it tries to start, a small flame comes out of the orifice but not a large flame at the end of the burner tube, any ideas?
  • Remove the burner tube...the main orifice is right on gas valve where burner tube connects.
Remove the orifice and clean it with alcohol.

If you still have a small flame after cleaning then gas pressure is low or gas valve is faulty.

My hot water heater doesn't like the cold weather very good... I hear it making multiple trys to fire when the temps are real cold.

When we first hookup and turn on propane, we always run the stove burners for a minute or two to bleed the lines real good...
