Suburban Water heater (Electric issue)

Burned up my Electric element,(no water in tank) Cleaned sediment out of tank and replaced with a new element, however my electric is still not heating the water. Checked all my connections all looks good ... Gas heats the water just fine.

Breaker is on, the little switch is on ... what else am I missing or should I check?

there are the two buttons that say "reset" and i pushed on those, but nothing seemed to happen. Would they be popped out if they were tripped? (assuming that a breaker of some sort)

  • There is a soft rubber square cover with 2 round figurations on it. Behind those round spots are reset switches. Push right there. It's possible the reset switches popped when the element overheated. Try that first. See what happens.

Sorry. Edit ... You already did that. well ... try again!

One more edit... did you put water in the tank after you installed the new element? if not, you probably burned the element out again? Just sayin' ... things do happen you know. The switch might have been on before you realized it. It only takes about 3 seconds to burn it out.

Also, my camper has 2 switches. One on the heater, the other inside the camper on the wall. Are both "on"?
