Suburban Water Heater Wiring Issues

My new to me C Class has a suburban water heater that has some wiring problems. It appears that several ground wires do not run to ground and I want to correctly re connect them. I will post pics of the culprits.

1. The wire connector to the electrode was not connected. It is housed in the flesh colored rubber boot and has a female spade connector. Am I correct that it connects to the male spade connector end of the electrode?

2. Coming from the same hole as the electrode connector wire in 1. above is a black or(could be old dirty blue) wire (I assume it comes from the module board, forward) that is not connected to anything. Looking at the schematic it appears like it should terminate on the DC junction box. Is this correct?

3. In the picture there is a black box with a slide switch. It appears to cover the location of the electric element. The slide switch has two positions one left (I assume off) and one right (I assume on). I this assumption correct?

This box has three connector positions. - top connector with blk/white wire, + middle connector with black wire and G bottom connector. The middle black wire is not connected to anything. Looking at the schematic I can not determine where it should connect. Will any ground screw work?

I am going to do my best to upload pictures for reference but I cant get schematic to upload. Thank you for any help you can provide.
