Mine was always falling off so I went to a mirror mount and it works GREAT and depending on the type of Dash Cam you have there may be one available for it, they are cheap enough that I have one in each of my vehicles, no problem, just take the camera along as I change rides.

There are 4 types that they sell, there are pictures in the ad, maybe you can get one that will work for you.
I have used this vendor many times and they are fast and reliable.
I looked at those before but am concerned that my mirrors have lots of electronics and the wires probably won't stretch down to the new position?
