- LwiddisExplorer II“love to get a compact bladder type tank to put in truck”
Compact? Volume of water dictates size of bladder. Seems worth and while I like water jugs. Do you have sufficent pay and load in truck? - azrvingExplorerI have this 60 gallon model. I used the winterizing port on my water pump to pull water from the bladder or 5 gallon jugs. I also installed a tee in the hose for the fresh tank fill. That tee goes to a ball valve and tees into the pressure side of the pump. When the valve is open it pulls from the bladder and dumps into the fresh tank fill hose.
I dont need any extra pumps. I have a cap for the winterize port and made a hose to go from winterize to garden hose. I can lay the bladder on my utility trailer or put it in the truck bed. Even with the FW hitch in the bed I can throw a tarp in the bed and around the hitch to protect the bladder. Even with the very irregular shape I can usually still get 40 gallons or so. I was lifting 5 gallon jugs to fill the fresh tank but my neck/spinal stenosis didn't like it.
I also bought one of these for those times that I just walk to a park faucet for 5 gallons. My heavy lifting days are over. I can do a lot of stuff a little at a time but I cant do a lot of stuff in a short time. :)
