Hi Mex,
I love my NuWave. The early ones draw 1300 watts Max. I've used mine right down to 102 volts.
The surface does get warm-but that is because the pot radiates heat to it.
I have reasonable stainless that works well with the Nuwave.
Temperature on the old ones is 10 F per button push with a 100, 175, 275, 375, and sear.
The new ones draw 1500 watts and the increment is 5 f per button push.
Both can be programmed. With no program they will shut down after 90 minutes.
