I am dumber than a boot on this subject, so I gotta ask a couple of possibly dumb questions.
I have had TCs since the early eighties. Been living in a house for over seventy years. I have never had a fire in my TCs or home, but have had fire extinguishers in both. My point is I cannot say how good my fire extinguishers are cause I never needed them.
I have never had a Surge protectors. If I have ever had an issue where I needed a Surge protector, I did not know it. How would I know if a given Surge protector is great?
I recently purchased two Surge protectors, one for my daughters 5er and one for my TC. I paid about $80 each, from Bestconverter. I read this thread about Surge protectors costing over $200. My Surge protectors are from made by Progressive Industries, and have a Lifetime warranty. Why is mine so inexpensive?
If I can't see where I have never needed one, how can I tell if it is or is not doing its job?
