Have 50 amp version.. Like it.. But as others have said the Progressive Industries job is better.

MAKE SURE you get one with the features ofthis..It must have an LCD display either on itslf or if you get a HW model (Hard Wired) on the remote.

The ones with only LED's I do not recommend. They only protect against one thing (I do have that too) they do not protect against low voltage or 240 volt outlts.
  • Forget that one and get a unit by Progressive Industries. The PI is a superior product and has a life time warranty. :)
  • Do yourself a big favor and buy the Progressive Industries EMS 30 or 50 It has a LIFETIME WARRANTY and the other brand SurgeGuard only has a wimpy 1 year warranty! Makes a huge difference when a few years down the road and a power pedestal blows out your Progressive Industries unit. In a day or two, you'll have a new one! The other company, you're on your own!

Trust me too, you DO need a good surge protector. I fried the hell out of my Minnie Winnie and ended up trading it in instead of having to deal with all the damage that was done by the bum pedestal!

Turned out ok though, because it led me to the best made Travel Trailer in the world, The Lance! Sorry, I couldn't help myself!

don't leave home without one. either brand OK, make if a multi-function one as pictured $250 and up, not the $90 special. I see no need for a remote read out etc. I just plug in a $12.00 analog volt meter to monitor what is going on.
be sure it has a bypass feature.

  • I have used one for many years. Switched from a portable to hard wired a few years ago. Never have to worry about it being inline.
  • We use that very surge protector and we are pleased with it. One thing I like about it is its size, pretty hard not to see and leave it behind.
  • A good thing to have. Many of the newer RVs have them built in which is a really good feature.
  • We have a Progressive Industries EMS-PT30C and have been very satisfied with the unit. Progressive Industries provides a lifetime Warranty.
