A properly installed wfco converter that hasn't failed is a good setup. The installation issue is that for the charging algorithm to work properly there has to be a good low resistance connection between the battery and converter. Few RVs provide this, resulting in the converter never ever using boost mode. Wfco makes a converter that's incompatible with the puny wiring most RVs are built with, and the RV makers don't install their selected converter properly. Reliabilty-wise, the wfco converters have a poor reputation. Sure, a small percentage of them last, more or less, forever. From reading forum posts, my sense is that more than half of them fail in 2 to 3 years, and the large majority have failed after 5 years.
