Switching to residential style fridge questions.

I would like to switch out my fridge to a compressor style 110v electric fridge. I have a 2500 watt invertor, 4-6volt batteries and 300 watts of solar as well as a 2500 watt generator for backup.

I am having trouble finding out how many watts these refrigerators draw and how much do they run (50% of the time or 80%) I know that will vary but looking for real life examples of what I can expect.
So how has a electrical monitor and a compressor style fridge?

Thanks in advance

  • I design and build solar and back-up power systems for a living. I have measured the power usage of many refrigerators. They all seem to be somewhere around 1.5 kWh per day in usage. Some more, some less, but that's about average.
    1,500 watt/hr / .8 inverter efficiency = 1,875 w/h / 12v = 156.25 Ah per day.
