- MEXICOWANDERERExplorerLights and smoke are for shamans and wizards, not engineers. I bought some cheap buckers to regulate 10 volt chips and soon as I powered one up unloaded Rice Krispies Snap Crackle & Pop. Thinking about a master fuse of 5-amps on the board. It isn't capable of handling 600-watts. A 600 watt 2 second surge is nothing to sneeze at.

thank you for the thank you!
I did not want any of those transients being sneaking and taking the easy route between pads :) - MEXICOWANDERERExplorerGordonThree I most definitely forgot to THANK YOU for your vital information about cleaning off nearby copper rings. My Bad.
- MEXICOWANDERERExplorerWhat I am attempting to gently do here is to provoke others into doing do-it-yourself projects. Like utterly simple 12-volt motion detector units sold on eBay to fire off an LED rope light. A 12-volt photocell switch that fires off a going to the bathroom at night LED.
While holes get drilled for pots and chicken-head in the BORG I"m going to fit a Honeywell A/C thermostat onto one of the Endless Breeze Fantastic Fans. Auto temp shutdown. Already adjusted the mechanical temp droop hysterisis for 5 degrees. Completely mechanical switch T rated three dollars bargain table at a USA chain hardware store. - NinerBikesExplorerGood, I knew you'd find this thread, mexicowanderer.
- MEXICOWANDERERExplorerHey not bad for one-handed electronics work. I used to make this stuff look pretty. But now I cannot but I don't let a little thing like that stop me. The rice grain fuses isolate individual components. Many expensive suppressors use a master fuse. Dumb Dumb Dumb. Something like this DOES NOT EXIST in the marketplace. The potential to absorb transients is phenomenal for it's size.
Can't find one and just like with the BORG charger I had to build it. One hand or not, it got built.
I got NEWS for any sine wave peak that wants to exceed 180vac peak-to-peak
GordonThree. A paddle scraper took care of the donuts.
And thanks to NinerBikes for posting this. If I can do this one-handed down here where they sell straightened nails anyone with the will to do so can build their own where stuff does not involve a fifteen hundred mile trip to go get it. - gboppExplorerDon't let the kids take that to school. They'll get arrested. :)

The first time I heard this, I didn't know what either one meant. - KJINTFExplorerThis goes way way back - Reminds me of my Several Junior High Electronics Projects
