Red has been for Liberals , Commies, and such since forever. (Paris communes?) Blue is for Conservatives from at least as long. So all of a sudden, CNN or somebody ignorant decided "Red" was for Republican???? Really beyond stupid. So fix that first, and then we can talk about free trade.

I've thought exactly the same thing since day one when CNN started using Red and Blue colors ... reversed.
