Five dollar an hour cooling so a person can stay cooped up in a container one tenth the size of his house. What's wrong with this picture?
Nothing at all .... if you like to camp when and where no one else does. i.e. In the pristine solitude of the Southwest Deserts or Texas Panhandle in the summer exploring or rockhounding like we have done.
Seeking out high altitudes, or seeking out high latitudes, or moving back in time to Pre-Global-Warming is not always available or desirable to some of us when out and about Recreation Vehicle'ing. However, for folks that are Living Vehicle'ing instead I agree ... generator cooling can get expensive.
BTW and FWIW, our Onan generator only (sips) about 0.4 gallons per hour when powering our Coleman in the Texas Panhandle during August ... and so far during these times ... 0.4 gallons an hour is less than five dollars an hour. ;)
