TC Refrigerator issues....

I have a Palomino Bronco 1200 with a 3-Way refrigerator.

Haven't used the frig in a few weeks. This weekend I turned it on to 120V electric and it didn't start. I left it like this for a half hour and nothing.

It was working fine a few weeks ago the last time I used it.

I'd never used the gas option on this refrigerator so I thought I'd try it. Lite right up and ran fine. I left it on gas for a few hours...No issues.

When I turned off the gas and returned it to 120V it ran fine!

Any idea what's-up with this? Should it start immediately when switched to 120V? Or does it need to go through some kind of cycle before it starts up?

  • Thanks...But the refrigerator would at least "hum" while it was cooling down, wouldn't it. I seem to remember it humming the last time I used it on 120V.

It cooled down real fast on propane. I was shocked how fast it was ice cold in the freezer compartment. I went to wipe it out with a damp rag and it stuck to the cold surface.....
  • I doubt that you could tell any cooling of the fridge in 1/2 hour. Most absorption fridges take 8-10 hours to cool down, some even longer.
