Based on its specs I'd give a qualified ok as a power converter. The qualifications are that you have to be willing to have the hassle of setting and monitoring the voltage setting, and have the knowledge of what to set it to. I think the faith in most of the multistage converters as a battery charger is way overrated. They don't take temperature, battery bank size, non-battery power usage, or wiring losses into account. Their "smartness" is just a shot-in-the-dark fixed algorithm. When the power converters have temperature and voltage sensing at the battery I'll change my tune. I read through all of the reviews at the amazon link and found 3 positive and zero negative comments about use as a battery charger.
