Television Antenna Leak

My 2009 TT has a Winnebago television antenna. Occasionally during extremely hard downpour of rain I get a water leak that drips off the ring that you pull down to swivel. I inspected the sealant around the base and it looks in great shape. I'm wondering what kind of seal goes between the swivel plate and the base plate? Is this something that can be replaced? Does anyone have an exploded parts diagram or provide a link? I can't seem to locate one myself.
Thanks for your help.
  • These posts prompted me to look at my manual for my antenna. Man, Winegard really isn't too clear on how to lubricate the "quad ring". How do you do this? Do you remove the plastic hex nut on top and just drench it with silicone? Or, do you remove the shaft?

    Thanks!
  • X2 on the coax boot. Whenever I put the antenna up or down the boot came loose. I put a little dab of silicone on the boot. All's good.
  • I replace the "O"ring and it only slowed down the leak replaced the worm gear shaft with the O rings already installed ($10 from RV store) and hasn't leaked since.

Not a difficult job but you do have to go on top to fix and recommend you replace the shaft.
  • If the water is coming down the shaft as you describe then I would assume that the o-rings on the rotation shaft are dried out or worn out and need replacing. the antenna should be lubed twice per year with dry silicone spray only (never WD-40) to keep thing moving smoothly and preventing this kind of an issue.
You can buy a whole new shaft or replace the o-rings. Once you disconnect the handle inside and remove the parts which come loose, you can go on the roof and unscrew the black cap on top. The shaft will unscrew right out for you to repair or replace.
  • There is a part kit a "O" ring gasket seal kit from Weinguard Antenna, replaces the leaky "O" rings inside the RV Antenna...accesable from inside the RV....available Camping World or RV Parts Shops.
    HERE!
  • There is usually a small rubber cap which covers the point where the antennae passes through the roof. Usually you can reset the cap back in position with your fingers and stop the leak
  • Don't know what a Winnebago Antenna is......but here is a link to a Winegard Antenna. Exploded view and part numbers. LINK

There are 2 washers & 1 o-ring on worm gear shaft
There are 2 o-rings for gear housing shaft. 1 above and 1 below base plate

Also rain can leak in thru coax cable if boot is not pushed down or has deteriorated/cracked.....very common source of water intrusion.
