My suction cup GPS mount will not hold to the dash mounted base for very long lately. What I am looking for would be to glue the mount to the base, but be removable when desired. I thought about Velcro, but not sure if that is what I want. Yes, I have cleaned the mount and suction cup thoroughly.

Spit on the cup and rub it around. It will stay put a lot longer.

I have tried all the usual stuff like spit and polish. The dash mounted piece appears to have a slight warp to it. There is no really flat spot and I already have the base glued down. I am thinking that maybe a thermoplastic glue of some kind might work.

Go to a glass shop and have them cut you a circle that will fit the dash piece. Glue it in place. Spit and stick the GPS mount. Done and the GPS is not glued and easily removable.

Having grown tired of the suction cup failures I went with a Mirror Mount Works great and stays where I want it and the GPS is easily removable.

How about a vent mount that clips into place? You will lose that vent, but it will keep your device cool in the summer.

How about one of those 3M Command Strips that is supposed to come off easily leaving no marks. Maybe two of them side by side.

If it used to work but now doesn't, a couple drops of a soft drink (NOT SUGAR FREE) on the suction cup will hold.

The bean bag thing worked in my 2009 but they must have added some silicone to my 2013 since it slides all over the place. Usually, just out of reach. Lots of good advice here, thanks.

That's your problem. Perhaps glue another nice, flat plate on top of that.

If that still doesn't work, as another posted said use a teeny bit of oil. I've found hand lotion does the trick.

Make sure the area of the dash is really clean. I use water on the suction cup to clean it, then leave it wet and apply to dash after thoroughly wiping the area.

Ah, the link showed it hanging down, have to check out clearance above.
might work in a pickup or class A but not nearly enough space in my SUV to mount it over the mirror. also don't know if my wires to the mirror are long enough?
