Don't know about digital age, but water heaters are sold for like 50 years having 6, or 9 or 12 years warranty.
Suppose those are the same tank and the extra money for longer warranty pays for those who break sooner.
I think it is nice gesture by Tesla.
They sure know how to build electric way better than GM making them for $3 million a piece.
