I agree this is kind if skeezy. I mean, it's not like the vehicle doesn't already contain the equipment. In this case, evidently all the cars have the same batteries, they are just crippled for people who don't pay a premium.
I'm just waiting for people to hack the cars to activate these kinds of features themselves.
FYI hacking was done by some people already,,however it invalidates Tesla warranty..
