The Left front end of his car needs a major camber adjustment after his off road adventures driving up to San Ysidro, otherwise he's going to need another new left front tire, sooner rather than later.
Yes, I drove all the way down to San Ysidro and back in a loooong day in my electric e-Golf, with it's whopping 83 mile range per recharge, to hand deliver an older smart phone of mine that I hope will make his life both easier, and harder at the same time.
Gotta keep learning, the day you stop learning is the day you start dying.
Of course, Mex had to try to figure out where the battery was on the car, and look under the hood at all the new fangled inverters, converters, chargers, big fat 360V wiring. Most of the battery capacity is in where the drive shaft tunnel and rear suspension drive train would sit, in the AWD or quattro versions by VW/Audi.
Fortunately for me, he did not ask for it's defibrillation capabilities, nor was a sample or a demonstration offered. What goes on down in Old Mexico stays down in Old Mexico.
Since he wondered what the battery looked like, here's a peek at the battery pack /belly pan. 705# of lithium powered goodness, 24.2 kwh capacity, good for 84 miles, although I did drive from Crevier BMW in Santa Ana, CA to Fuller Kia in Chula Vista, CA ( DC level 2 360V recharging stations at 24kw) recharging on 17.3 Kw, trip was 98 miles on that leg of the journey. Slowly, at 55 mph most of the way. smkettner might be interested in those numbers.
