Oh, Mex.
I guess you really hated it there, in the hospital and in the Unidos. Can't say as I blame you. But you don't sound well, in the above post. You better make it home in one piece and get a couple weeks' sleep.
No, but you may be showing yours a little :)
I love my country, but I understand the need to be home.
Especially when injured and ill -- the instinct to hide in one's own cave is overwhelming, in my experience.
Sympathy for another person's love of their own adopted home is not unpatriotic. - AlmotExplorer IIIWho drives there in the night? I saw what happens to the front half of the car after hitting a 1,0000 pound cow. Cows don't care who you are, and unmarked topez won't magically disappear either. $US25 hotel room might seem like a lot - with local wages, but it's well worth it.

More people's lives depend on it, possibly some loose cattle or what ever else that is wild life that roams the countryside there.
I've never been that deep in to Mexico, what am I missing, besides Montezuma's Revenge? - MEXICOWANDERERExplorerJumped Ship. Halfway home. Hospital staff fuming. The doctor wanted to play orchestra conductor with the pulse rate. I told him Set It On Seventy. Then I pointed the hood ornament south and didn't breathe until I went over the pavement vibrators crossing the line. A crusty nurse caught me right as I posted on the Z-forum - this site was lackadaisical. Pants and hospital gown I was a marked man. I wasn't in a private room. The second bed was occupied by a rabid Trump supporter. He must have said 300000 words in the almost day I was there. Ever try to read when someone is whistling and clapping?
Picked up the 4-1/2 digit DROK ammeter and a genuine Manganin shunt I got on eBay. Now I have two cellular phones that are smarter than the user. They must line the walls of the ICU to kill cell phone signal. The laptop got a great signal down in the waiting lobby. Big window, a McDonald's next door and me with my 2-watt Alfa booster and 12 db whip antenna.
Tomorrow night I shall be home! Hablando EspaƱol, real food - with chili! Was nice to meet Niner and his War of The Worlds flux transporter. But I know now I have got to do something about my eyesight. It was a nightmare the last half hour of driving. That 500-watt LED bar otter do the trick now that I'm bringing back an 80 amp relay and socket. And a new set of slip rings for my alternator. Over the hogback I go tomorrow morning - 22' wide pavement then an instant vertical drop. Bad Juju.
Spent an hour on the phone with the family. Wotta bunch of ghouls. Dalia insisted I WhatsApp a macro shot of the incision. Maybe later. This new pacemaker is claimed to be, well in my case, lifetime. 15-20 years battery life.
Gotta get some sleep Thanks for all the well wishes. And thank you niner for an even bigger mystery gizmo. No alls I gotta do is figure out what side is the shiny side. - NinerBikesExplorer
